July 29th, 2012 - Rodney was back in the driver's seat over the weekend in his #10 Rocket/Wall-2-Wall Racing Engine Super Late Model with a pair of Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) events. The weekend opened on Saturday evening at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) with a $2,500-to-win race. Thirty-four entries were on hand, and Wing began his night by locking into the dash via time trials. In the dash he advanced from the seventh starting spot to a fourth place finish, which earned him the fourth starting spot for the 50 lap finale. He would battle in the top five early in the feature before mechanical issues forced him pitside to a nineteenth place finish. On Sunday evening the action shifted to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for a $2,000-to-win, MSCCS race. A strong field of thirty-two cars passed through the gates for the event, and via time trials Wing locked into the main event. In the feature he raced in the top five for the duration of the race before crossing the finish line in fourth behind race winner, Chris Wall, Scott Dedwylder, and Dane Dacus. Full results from both events are available at www.StateSeries.com. July 21st, 2012 - Rain was the victor for the second straight week at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) as the $2,500-to-win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Model event was nixed by Mother Nature. As a result, Rodney didn't race anywhere.
On Sunday evening the action shifted north to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the $5,000-to-win, Governor's Cup at the 3/8 mile oval. Forty competitors passed through the pit gate, and after falling short of locking into the feature via time trials, Rodney won the third b-main to earn the thirteenth starting spot for the 50 lap finale. During the course of the feature he would mount a great charge as he entered the top five late in the event before challenging race leader, Randy Weaver, for the top spot. He would be unable to take the top spot but did still record a great, second place finish at the checkered flag. Full results from the weekend are available at www.SASDirt.com.
April 14th, 2012 - The second round of the inaugural Spring Throw Down was held on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway as a talented field of forty-three Super Late Models entered the $8,000-to-win race. In time trials Rodney was second quick in his group to earn the pole position for the second heat race. He would slip to a third place finish in his heat race, which still locked him into the feature in the eleventh starting spot. For the first half of the main event Wing would race around mid-pack before the track began to lock down. He would manage to advance to a tenth place finish in the final rundown. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com. April 13th, 2012 - On Friday night Rodney returned to the location of his first win of the season as he entered a $2,000-to-win event at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi), which served as the opening round of the inaugural Spring Throw Down. Thirty-five Super Late Models entered the program, and Rodney began the night by setting fast-time in his group in time trials to earn the second starting spot for the 30 lap feature. He was joined on the front row by Klint Byars, and as the race went green Wing shot to the lead with Byars and Ronny Lee Hollingsworth in tow. By lap five Rodney was already in lap traffic, which allowed Hollingsworth to erase his lead. Hollingsworth would throw a slide job at Wing exiting turn four on the twelfth lap, which resulted in the duo making contact. Rodney received body damage, but was able to continue as he fell to second. Over the remainder of the event the handle on his car would begin to go away as he slipped to a fourth place finish behind race winner, Hollingsworth, Byars, and Bub McCool. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com.

February 10th, 2012 - Rodney again took part in the UMP Open Wheel Modified portion of the 36th Annual Winter Nationals at East Bay Raceway Park on Friday night. Thirty-five Super Late Models entered the $7,000-to-win/$700-to-start event, and on Friday night Wing would start fourth in his heat and would quickly work his way to the second spot before he spun on a late race restart, resulting in damage to his entry and an early end to his night. Via his bad luck in his heat race on Friday night, Wing started fifth in a b-main on Saturday night, and had raced his way into a transfer spot, when bad luck found him again as he broken an axle. The team would get the axle replaced, and he would luckily be able to utilize a series' provisional to start 24th on the grid for the 70 lap finale. In the heat Wing would slip backwards to a fourth place finish, which left him one spot short of a transfer to the feature event. As a result, Rodney started on the pole of a b-main event on Saturday night. He would battle for a transfer spot for the duration of the event before finishing third. On Saturday night, Wing would take the green flag in front of a huge crowd and his hopes were high for a strong run.
